August 10th - GLACIER - DAY 3

Now this is hilarious! Bare with me. We took a lazy morning today. Knowing that we would take a hike late morning. So that’s what we did. Hung out at camp, took Jett for long walks in the campground, packed our backpacks and got the truck ready to leave camp.

Leaving Jett behind in the Airstream we drove off to the Rocky Point Trail Head. After departing and finding out the trail head wasn’t far away we quickly made it to the trail. I jokingly said ‘Wouldn’t it be funny if this trail went by our campsite?’

Once on trail we had hiked approximately 500 feet, crossed a foot bridge and through the thick trees spotted a motor home. Upon a closer look I asked Tim if that looked like the motor home in the campsite across from us? Uhhh ... yup!!!

So after half the effort we put into getting ready for this hike we could have just left on foot from basecamp. LOL

As it turned out it was a beautiful hike. Fabulous overlooks along Lake McDonald. The foot traffic was light. And the terrain changed with every turn.

After our turn around and hiking back past basecamp to the truck we returned to camp. Then we got ready for a very special dinner date. We were to meet another couple at a restaurant but last minute decided to meet them 10 minutes away at their campsite.

Mike and Diane we met ten years ago in Ohio at the Airstream factory. Then about five years ago we last saw them in Albuquerque, NM. Then a few years ago we discovered that my step-dad went to school with them and had been at their wedding! It’s a small world indeed!!!
