THANKSGIVING AT TURKEY LAKE

This Thanksgiving Holiday weekend we are grateful for the beauty of nature and all those family and friends who were able to join us. Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake in Orlando has become the perfect venue for us to camp at for Thanksgiving. Best yet!!! Our final headcount this year was fourteen. We all had a wonderful time! Shared great company and stories. Relaxed under the shade of these beautiful oak trees!! And of course ate too much!!!

Friday we left camp and headed to Daytona for the Turkey Rod Run on the infield of the Daytona International Speedway. It’s a car swap meet, car show and so much more. WOW!! So crowded and they had record attendance each day this weekend.

Saturday we slept in. Thank goodness because we were exhausted from the feast on Thursday and then the many miles we walked at Daytona Friday. After getting ourselves moving and starting the prep to pack I got to spend time playing my new super special Airstream ukulele that I got in Ohio from a friend. Then Tim and I walked to the lake for some fly fishing right before sunset. While fishing a pair of bald eagles flew over us!! The evening was finished with a feast of leftovers and a campfire. Now how many people have experienced all that in one day?!

Tomorrow we will make the twenty minute drive home. We will partially unpack, clean and then re-pack the Airstream so that we can go to a Tin Can Tourist event starting Thursday. Hope everyone has a great rest of your Thanksgiving weekend!
