D122 - 08/28/24 LAC LA HATCHE

What a treat. Breakfast out! Our first visit ever to a Tim Hortons. Only a short walk from the Airstream and we were there. Not only do they have delicious breakfast sandwiches and great hot coffee but also some tasty donuts!! We loved it.

As soon as we were done with breakfast Tim and I departed Canadian Tire with the Airstream while our Airstream New Hampshire friends were still out getting the oil changed in their truck. Poor Jett thought they had left us forever! Fueling up with diesel and stocking up at Costco was in order for us. So nice to get those must have items (lol) restocked that we were out of.

Today we traveled on Caribou Highway (97) out of Prince George. NH lead today. Along the way we stopped at the Quesnel’s Forestry Industry Observatory. Then at the Visitors Center in Quesnel. Their rose and flower gardens were full of beautiful blossoms and the prettiest manicured grass. Forestry is the main industry in Quesnel. They have two pulp mills, a plywood plant, saw mills, planer mills and a MDF plant.

Throughout the day and even over the last few days we have all noticed the ever changing landscape. So drastic from days past. Today we drove through beautiful green rolling hills and gorgeous farmland,  along rivers, lakes and through small towns.

Basecamp for this evening is at Lac La Hatche Provincial Park. The campground is heavily wooded with Douglas-fir trees and has large campsites. Although we are not doing super long driving days we have definitely put

some miles behind us over the past two weeks. We are currently about 300 miles north of Vancouver.

Tomorrow will be yet another travel day. If our day goes as planned we hope that we will be able to stay put in one place for a few nights.
