9/4 - ELK ISLAND ON JACKSON LAKE

Elk Island was a very magical place for us to spend our morning . Tim and I were lucky enough to get on the last breakfast cruise of the season! Believe or not they have already begun shutting some areas down here in preparation for winter.

In order to go we had to get up early and walk not quite a half of a mile from basecamp to the Marina here in Colter Bay Village. That’s where we boarded The Rendezvous boat. They then took us on a short thirty minute cruise on the lake before landing us on Elk Island.

Upon arrival they had a campfire going with COWBOY COFFEE! And an entire lineup of fruit, yogurt, pan fried trout, pancakes, eggs, home fries, sausage and BACON!

Not only was the food super tasty and fresh but someone (ME!) brought us a little something, something to put in our orange juice. It was the perfect addition to the most amazing panoramic view of the mountains one could have for breakfast.

The entire crew that took care of us were just awesome! From the boat captain, to 1st Mate, to the chef to all the cooks and extra hands ... they were the best. You could tell that everyone loved what they were doing and that they were very sad that this was the last day of the season for them. This was a very special treat for us! I can’t thank them enough.

This afternoon we spent driving around GTNP trying to find a ‘quiet’ place for Jett to go swimming. It took a few stops to scout locations but we finally found a place. Shhhh! Tim found a great spot on the Snake River. Jett loved it and she has become a diver now. Crazy girl!!

Tomorrow morning I will take us to a pretty spectacular location. It will take us to a new height and grand view!!! No skis required. Namaste!
