9/11 - PA’RUS TRAIL HIKE

Tim and I decided to take an easy hike today. Leaving Jett behind, to guard basecamp, we set off for the day. (actually for just a few hours) The trail head we decided on is just at the Visitor Center that is a short walk across the parking lot behind the Airstream.

Even though dogs are allowed on PA’RUS TRAIL we needed to let her rest. Seems that her paws were just a bit sore from (abrasions) the hike in Kodachrome. We were very concerned about this yesterday. Today she is much better. Pa’rus Trail is a super easy paved trail that meanders along the Virgin River.

Jett’s other concern now is grass. What’s a girl to do? There is not one single blade of green grass to be found. Tim and I knew we would face this at some point along our journey. Jett did okay at Kodachrome but for whatever reason she does not like the landscape here. Ugh. We will need to work through not having greenery and be patient.

(Hmmm ... green grass in town next to the pub???)

Zion is Utah’s oldest national park. It was designated one hundred years ago. Just like many other national parks, Zion is filled with so much beauty and natural landscape that visitors continue to be in awe of and envious of their surroundings. From canyons to spectacular scenic drives to gorgeous red rocks that provide a unique focal point as you pass by, Zion National Park is a dream waiting to be explored.

That brings me to tomorrow’s (goal) adventure. Tomorrow brings fear for me. I will be facing fear like nothing I have ever done before. But if I don’t at least  try I will never know. Onward.

Today’s quote - ‘If we learn nothing else from this tragedy, we learn that life is short and there is no time for hate.’
