Just a boring day around basecamp. Actually we needed not only a rest day after a hard day of car launching but a clean-up on aisle #1 day. I was able to get some laundry done. Met a very sweet couple staying here from California, also in an Airstream, in the laundry room.
Got reorganized in the Airstream. Also Tim and I were able to clean some of the items we took to the Glacier View car launch. The Nikon looked bad along with everything else. Shoes. Bags. Hats. Everything had a nice Alaska hue to it. That Nikon took some tedious cleaning.
In the early evening we cooked one of our favorite meals for dinner. A foil pack on the grill. This time we used a honey garlic kielbasa, fresh carrots and potatoes. I also make one with ham, sweet potatoes, apple and pineapple.
After dinner we took Jett for her evening walk. Taking her a little farther on a local trail here. She’s the best lead for a hike!
Anyone noting my sunrise and sunset? They are getting farther apart. Woke up early this morning around 2 am. Peaked out from under the eye mask and it was definitely darker than usual. Still not completely dark by any means but definitely darker.
I know we didn’t have the excitement like yesterday today. But believe me when I say we are still processing everything from yesterday. It was a super fun experience!
