LOWCOUNTRY

Sunday was a busy day. Tim and I had to finish up all of the packing for this next adventure. We had already loaded the kayaks the day prior making our final push to depart a little easier.

Late in the evening we began heading north. Jett was anxious to get on the road too. The short drive to Brunswick, GA was an easy one. This would be our second stay at The CB (Cracker Barrel). It's not something I like doing but The CB serves its purpose. The bad ... Jett does not care for the blacktop 'camp site', birds loudly chirped ALL night, 5am garbage truck was quieter than interstate traffic and no electric hook-up.

The good ... our dinner at the CB was tasty, breakfast 2Go there was even better, good shopping, no reservations required, the CB staff could not have been any nicer, camp site is free!

By departing a day early and taking this short drive allowed us to get into Lowcountry earlier on Monday. The three hour drive to Charleston, SC on Monday was nice! We took the back route off 95 on Hwy 17 into town. Great scenery! Our final destination - James Island.

Once we had camp set-up and we got settled it was time to get Jett some exercise. She 'really' needs her exercise. One of the best things about this park besides the great paved nature and bike trails, water park and crabbing dock is the OFF LEASH DOG PARK ON A LAKE!

Jett did not know where to go first. She forgot who we were. Ran everywhere. There are numerous beaches that she spent her time running to each one. Tim and I could not keep up. She swam the most she ever has and once tried to swim all the way across the lake. There were so many new dogs to meet. She had an absolute blast!

Our stay here in Charleston will be exciting. So much to see and never enough time. The last time we came was three years ago and had to depart early due to a tropical storm. We have a loose schedule planned and hope to make the most of it!
