10/13 - ROSWELL, NM

Tim and I have ‘crash landed’ in Roswell. Since we have been dry camping for nine days we needed somewhere not too far away that we could have an easy drive to and crash. Roswell fit the bill! Here we can recover to do laundry. We have power and water now. Full hook-ups actually. This campground’s catchy phrase is ‘Come crash with us!’ So here we are.

This adorable small RV park I was not sure about. I had not talked to anyone I knew to find out if it was a decent place. When we arrived we were greeted by Aliens right away. Then with a quick glance down the first aisle I started to question the place. All the sites seemed to be tight. Then when I checked in they showed me my site on their map and mentioned a pavilion with a picnic table.

When we were escorted to our site there was the pavilion! Wow!!! From the drive it looks like a picture perfect miniature hacienda. The fourth wall on the backside is non existent. Inside is a picnic table and cement floor. It did not take me long to fix that up! And we are the only site in the campground with one of these. Again the best site ever!!!

As of this post we have not had any sightings other than our front porch greeters. We are on the constant lookout. Once night falls things could get exciting! We should definitely star gaze tonight. Tomorrow we hope to do some scouting and will report our findings.
