10/1 - SANTA FE, NEW MEXICO - DAY 2

WOW! Y’all the food here is amazing!!! But first let’s talk Airstream stuff. Less than a 15 minute drive from our basecamp here in Santa Fe, New Mexico is VINTAGE TRAILER SUPPLY. Tim and I have spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars online with them and still have hundreds and hundreds of dollars to spend with them. With two trailers to restore and one to keep up with its never ending. VTS is right around the corner from Santa Fe Brewing HQ where we went last night.

Jett even had a good time there. They just had the grand opening of their show room a few weeks ago. We really wished we could have attended. But reservations had already been made for National Parks that could not be changed.

Vintage Trailer Supply has filled the gap and need for hard to find parts for vintage trailerites and has also taken care of readily available items needed as well. Their showroom is just gorgeous! The displays and items for hands on inspections were top notch. We missed an item on our VTS shopping list today so to still save on some shipping we might just have to stop by there in the morning, as our last stop out of town, tomorrow.

Our next stop for the day was downtown Santa Fe, the capital of New Mexico, after we dropped Jett back off at basecamp. I think I have fallen in love! It’s a different culture here. What a beautiful spiritual oasis. The best food. Galleries. History and culture. Performing Arts. Amazing architecture. Friendly locals. Missions. Cathedrals. Spas. Hotels. So welcoming!

Tim and I really loved our time in downtown. No massive skyscrapers. Beautiful. I bought the best hat EVER! The one thing that caught us off guard was some (most) of the busy, best rated restaurants close everyday at 2:30PM and don’t reopen until 5PM. WTF? Siestas? No one informed me.

The one good thing about that is it allowed us to hone in on where we could/should go. Del Charro!!! Their menu was simple and satisfied what we were looking for. I found cervezas! And tacos! PORK BELLY TACOS actually with green chili crema!!! No one said anything about the little bits of pineapple in them but WOW what a delicious and savory surprise. Santa Fe is rated as #5 for America’s Best Cities for food.

Jett was happy that we returned to The Trailer Ranch to feed her and let her out. Our day then ended with a rainbow followed by a beautiful sunset! We now know why it is considered one of the most delicious and beautiful destinations in the U.S. Tomorrow will find us moved a little farther south, down to the land of the enchanted! I really, really can’t wait to tell you all about it. We will meet up with friends there and eat more tasty food. This next location will take us to new heights. It is the MOST PHOTOGRAPHED event in the world!!!
