Got up early and watched sunrise across the river. Had a fawn out of nowhere run past me next to our picnic table. Tim and I walked half the campground this morning socializing along the way. Taking what pictures I could of Airstreams along the way. All of the rally attendees will be taking a private museum tour. Half of them took the tour today. Tim and I are signed up to tour tomorrow morning.
Today we went into town for supplies … Kroger & Costco. Returned to basecamp to walk and socialize our way around the other half of the campground. Found a very special 1948 Airstream Liner camped here similar to ours (famous in the A/S circle of who’s who/who owned it previously). We were able to take pictures of both the interior and exterior of this rig for reference in our build. The last three daylight pictures are of the Airstream like ours that we are restoring.
Attended a lovely dinner for the Retro Rally here in the park. So nice to see old friends and meet so many new ones. Thank you to our host and rally organizers for all their hard efforts.
This evening we walked around some more looking at some of the trailers after dark. Ran into a few more friends and hung out for a bit with our Vintage Airstream Club Present. He was projecting a football game on the side of his van. Must be the biggest TV I’ve ever seen in a campground!
Finished the night back at our Airstream. Need to get to bed early as tomorrow we have an early call for the private museum tour.
