Here it is the best deal of the day! Yoga in the Gardens at Cliffrose Lodge and Gardens. And it was FREE! AND just a short ten minute walk to the other side of the river from basecamp. The class was so tranquil and just what I needed. The natural sounds of the surrounding Virgin River, wind blowing through the trees and birds chirping made for a perfect setting. A sanctuary! Maybe I could move here and just go to yoga classes?!
The afternoon found us in Kolob Canyons which is located a good distance (50 minute drive) away in the north western corner of Zion National Park. Kolob has many finger canyons that are all like a bunch of mini Zion Canyons.
That side of the park was just as stunning and so glad we made the effort to venture out to it. It was a very scenic drive. While there we enjoyed a nice picnic lunch. Jett was with us and of course caught redrock butt syndrome again!
On our way back to basecamp we decided to take a little detour into Hurricane to find a dog park. We had already kinda wiped her down, when she then got into mud at the park! It was super hot outside. HOT! Can you blame her? Tim’s truck had a reading of 104°!!!
The Tim and I then made a few quick stops before heading back. We needed just a few supplies that we could get cheeper there. How much cheaper? Just as an example Oreo Cookies are with tax $8 back in Springdale. I paid $3.28 on sale for them where we stopped near Hurricane.
Back at basecamp we settled in while listening to Mythic Valley LIVE at the Zion Canyon Brew Pub. The pub is so close we could hear them from the Airstream.
To let you all in on how I find some of the events and around town happenings that Tim and I go to, I use a few different apps. The one I like best is called LOCAL. This app makes it really easy to search locally where you are or any town you choose or any time frame.
