The loop drive here in Grand Teton National Park was very interesting, so different than Yellowstone and a good way to get the lay of the land. Spectacular! The mountains just jut up out of the earth reaching to the sky.
Here you can see Cascade Canyon. We will talk more about that and Jenny Lake later in the week.
We were able to make a few side stops today, including the Moose Visitors Center, but what I was most excited about was to finally reach Jackson, WY in Jackson Hole. However it was not the best timing for us. It was a busy holiday weekend and there was a hillside fire on the edge of town. Tourists were excited but the residents were on edge.
Tim and I needed to make our way over to the Teton Village Sports at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. With traffic beginning to backup in that direction we did not want to add to the chaos and wanted residents to have way and priority to the area. We will try again on Thursday morning.
After we left Jackson we circled back on the eastern side of the loop to head back to basecamp, taking notes along the way for the rest of the week.
To all of our family and friends back home in Florida our thoughts are with you. We are just getting word on the devastation in the Bahamas. We will continue to monitor the status of the storm as much as we can. Please be safe out there. XOXO
Funny of the day -
(in reference to another Airstream couple we were watching set-up that had just pulled into camp, both were dressed the same)
Alice - ‘Are they dealers?’
Tim - ‘Swingers?’
Alice - ‘Are they DEALERS?!!!’
Quote of the day -
‘Where happiness and contentment seemed to reign in wild romantic splendor’ - Osborne Russell
