This morning inside tent: 63*
Elevation 4,030’
Today was scheduled as a social ‘get to know everyone’ day. We began with a continental breakfast over at Maurie’s place a half block away … she is sister #1. I’m #3545. My friend Barbara is #5000. And we are approaching sister #23,000. I held the safety meeting along with the help of Barbara.
Next we all carpooled
over to Bob’s place. He will be helping us out in the shop this week. Everyone wanted to see his place and it gave us opportunity to check out our welding helmets to make sure that they worked.
After getting back to the field most of the ladies went river rafting. Barbara and I stayed behind. After awhile we went into town for lunch, a cold beverage and to get ice. A thunderstorm hit while we were out. We rushed back to button up our stuff because we are both in tents. Then had to do what we could to close windows and doors of other campsites. The rest of the girls had not returned from the river yet. Rain was not expected. We saved the world!
Didn’t get the ice so we had to make a 2nd trip out in a side-by-side. Fun ride!!
The field is now soaked. Muddy. Big mess. It’s still going to be a fun day tomorrow! And a few things will need to be dried out. Plus we have our first day of our Welding Clinic!
High was supposed to be 94* today. I did see 90* inside tent at one point.
Bedtime temperature inside tent 72*
