This morning we woke up to the mountains and our sunrise being socked in by the clouds. Luckily we had an easy prep to depart and only a very light rain to deal with.
Today was a short travel day. Just three and a half hours to our next destination. We drove north through Nashville, Tennessee and landed in Kentucky at another unique Harvest Host location.
Our parking spot was beautiful! Green rolling hills consisting of luscious Kentucky grass. Just gorgeous breathtaking scenery. The owners and staff were very accommodating and welcoming. They offer a tour of the distillery and a tasting that we did not need our arm twisted to take. The tour was very informative and a fun family history of how this distillery came about. They are pet friendly so Jett was able to partake as well. Moonshine, bourbon and moongarittas! Yeah!! We tried a good number of what was offered. You only receive ten tiny cordials cups for the tasting. Since Tim was wrangling Jett I may have miscounted his ten. Ooops.
We bought way more than we anticipated from the gift shop. Moonshine, moongarittas, t-shirts and a hat!
The evening was finished up with grouper burgers that we grilled on the tailgate of the truck back at the Airstream and then we sat in the beautiful grass pasture to eat and enjoy the rest of the night here.
Also Jett found a new friend during all this. She lives at the next farm over. The ladies in the gift shop called her by name and said she comes by almost daily. Wish I could remember it because she then spent the rest of the evening with us. We began to just call her Moocher! Obviously she works the Harvest Host campers on a daily basis.
Tomorrow is another travel day for us. However the distillery opens back up at 10AM for serving! Hmmm?! … Tim what time do you want to leave?
