Today was a ‘BREAKING BAD’ kinda day and it marked day eighty on the road for us but first Balloon Fiesta! Tim and I took the morning to sleep in. We needed it! After a week of getting up at 5 to 5:30 AM everyday we were spent. We can still see all the balloons launch from our new campsite so the decision was made to have coffee and breakfast at the Airstream.
And just like that the wind current brought the balloons right over us.
Next up for the day was a trip to the local Ford garage for Tim’s truck. We have put thousands of miles on it during this trip and it was time for an oil change.
The heart of Albuquerque was also on our list for the day. Old Town, founded in 1706, has narrow streets, century-old adobe houses, tiny shops and a charming plaza in the center of town. It’s a very quaint tourist destination.
One stop we had to make while there was a visit to the Candy Lady! It’s just a short walk from the Old Town Plaza. For my breaking bad fans out there ... Yes! We bought a bag.
Not far from Old Town are a few of the filming locations for ‘BREAKING BAD’. We cruised by the Civic Plaza in downtown. This is where Walt tries to meet Jesse. Tim then drove me through the parking lot of The Dog House. This was a favorite place for Jesse Pinkman to visit as well.
It will be another quiet evening (no scheduled events this evening) spent sitting outside in this beautiful weather!
