This morning the wind had laid down considerably, enough for a perfect morning at Balloon Fiesta. Just after 6 AM while I was out, in an empty field that sits above the launch area, walking Jett, Dawn Patrol launched! The moment was very peaceful and serene as the balloons gracefully glided above us in the early morning sky. Even Jett enjoys watching the balloons.
The morning chill was really cold. I don’t think it got as cold as we had anticipated. We saw it was 34* on the field just before daybreak. Tim and I needed to warmup after the first wave of balloons launched and had somehow wandered into the Old No. 7 Beer Garden. It was too early for me to drink beer so we had a hot coffee with Baileys Irish Cream and some Honey Old No. 7 JD in our coffee. It was super tasty and warmed us up for sure!

Tim and I then went off property for the days adventure. We headed for the foothills to The Sandia Peak Tramway. When we arrived we discovered that due to the overload of tourists this week from Balloon Fiesta there was at least a three hour wait to go up in the gondola. Wow!
So instead we took some pictures of others crammed in a gondola going up while we waited about forty minutes for a table down below. The view at our table overlooking Albuquerque was pretty amazing. The food was delicious and the margaritas were exceptional.
While in the area we visited a few more ‘BREAKING BAD’ locations. Hank and Maria’s home. Then a flood zone where Walter had waited for an extractor. We also swung into a parking lot of a restaurant where Walter met with Gretchen. Here Gretchen calls Walter out for lying about she and her husband paying for his medical bills. Walter then tells her she ruined his life and she storms out.
From here we drove back across town to a Rio Rancho Fire Station where we met up with the friend of Tim’s whom he use to work with. There we got a tour of that fire house and found out they had all just watched the new BREAKING BAD movie EL CAMIMO that was just released today. I want to see that movie! However Tim hasn’t seen the last season. Uggh!!!
Once back at basecamp we hit the field again to watch the Special Shape Glowdeo. Then returned to the Airstream for the Afterglow Fireworks Show. I’m not sure where the day went but we get to get up early in the morning to do it all over again!!!
