Woo-hoo and a yiiipppeee ki-yay!!! That is what I say. Everyday here is more exciting than the previous and we haven’t even seen half the park. Today was jammed packed with activities. First we drove the short distance into Mammoth where we walked the Mammoth Hot Springs Terraces. I put together one of those cool videos to tell the story and map our way. I hope the link works ...

Next up was to spend a few hours back at basecamp with Jett before taking off to Roosevelt Lodge for a Cowboy Cookout. Right at the entrance was a herd of bison. Once checked in we got on horses (yes ... even Tim) and we rode out into the wilderness! I had the privilege to ride Medicine Man and Tim rode Billings. We had such an amazingly good time. It was way more fun than I could have ever imagined.
Then on our return to basecamp from Roosevelt Lodge we came across not only a bison in the road but a short distance later we saw a black bear. These small moments really allows us to appreciate where we are and what this great land is all about.
With its rich beautiful landscape of over 2.2 million acres (that’s almost 3,500 sq. miles) here in Yellowstone National Park we still have a lot of ground to cover and will never, ever see it all.
Today’s quote -
‘There are no words that can tell the hidden spirit of the wilderness, that can reveal it’s mystery, it’s melancholy, and it’s charm.’ - President Theodore Roosevelt
