Morning came early as we wanted to see a few things before heading back to the states. With limited time we wanted adventure without the crowds. One local told us tourists had been heading about 50 miles north from Banff to Lake Louise, arriving there at 5:30 am in the morning, only to find no parking. So we decided to stay close to camp.
Some of the nearby scenic places took us to Lake Minnewanka, Two Jack Lake, Johnson Lake and Cascade Pond. After those quick stops we drove the Tunnel Mountain Road which is scenic drive above town that runs the length of town.
Once back in town we stopped for a quick breakfast before heading back south to The Wymer Basecamp at Glacier in the states.
We’ve safely returned into the US after a really easy re-entry through the border crossing.
What an amazing side trip! We loved our ‘glamping’ adventure! We loved Kootenay and Banff National Parks!! We loved Canada!!! 🇨🇦
