Oh Canada!!! I can’t believe we pulled it off. Tim and I along with Jett drove even further north. Leaving the Airstream behind in the states we have successfully landed at Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada!!!
After leaving our basecamp at Fish Creek in Glacier we drove through Whitefish, Montana. Then after an easy border check we crossed into British Columbia, Canada.
A few hours later we found ourselves entering Kootenay National Park of Canada. Here you drive through a carved out crack in the mountain as opposed to a tunnel as you would expect.
Kootenay National Park is a unique and beautiful park. It’s the only National Park to feature both glacier-clad peaks along the continental divide and grasslands in the Columbia Valley.
Continuing on we stopped at Banff. Here we did some ‘glamping’ at Banff National Park of Canada!!! This is Canada’s oldest national park. Two Jack Main Campground is where we landed for the night. It offers a more secluded and authentic camping experience.
Our host had graciously set up camp for us to a perfection. We are really glamping! Everything was ready when we arrived. Down to the tent, a hammock, bikes, fire starter, wood, cooking equipment, dishes and linens. All we needed to do was show up!
After checking in we drove into the town of Banff. Took Jett with us and ate at the Bear Street Tavern. Delicious! The Canadian beer was tasty as well.
We had a beautiful drive today through two National Parks in Canada. So worth the effort if even for a short time. Scenery like we have never seen before! Breathtaking!
