You don’t have to go far to see some pretty amazing things here. Our first stop was to the Cedar Spings Marina at the end of the road. The Snag Bar is the center attraction. Boat wake makes for carful walking. Not sure how much one can drink on a rolling floating bar. The kitchen is on a separate pontoon boat. Good times!
Next up was the Flaming Gorge Dam. It’s one of the smaller dams that we have visited at 502’ tall and 1,285’ long but still just as amazing! The gorge below was spectacular. Then we drove a little farther out for some great views of the area.
On our return to camp the wind picked up and brought a lot of smoke in from the western fires. We could barely see the sun and could now smell the smoke. One other discovery was that we have a hammock dog. Jett willingly came to me and got in the hammock. She stayed with me for over an hour. Maybe two! At times it was painful but I wanted to enjoy every second of it!
Will be off grid for the next three days. Our next stop takes us to a place we have not been and we are super excited to be able to explore it. Some pictures from there can be mistaken for Zion National Park. Stay tuned for details as we discover Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park.
