D158 - 10/03/24 A SEA OF SILVER

Yes!! We made it to the 2024 67th Airstream Club International Rally in Sedalia, Missouri. Interesting enough on Day 4 of this Epic Adventure we were just 50 miles north from our current location at the Farmhouse.

But first Tim and I had another fun shopping trip this morning in the Bass Pro Shop. We went to the Black Riffle Coffee Company. Got coffee and breakfast! Bonus. Then we hit the road with me driving.

Amazing day. As we were approaching the Airstream Club International Rally we had four other rigs follow in behind us. Not sure who they were. But we had an amazing caravan going for about fifty miles!

On our arrival we had the parking team lead us to our site! Just a few words of advice to others out there. If you want a rig or anything parked talk to the driver of the rig. Not the passenger. It took me two seconds to let them know their mistake. I then parked our rig like a

pro! So far there’s about 650 of 1,300 Airstreams here!!

Our parking site is in Heritage Row. This was our invite. Amongst our vintage Airstream people! This event is taking place at the Missouri State Fairgrounds and as much as we wanted it to be Rock Star parking … it’s not. This venue is so big no one has that. However we do believe we have one of the best sites here as we have a large tree to the east of us and one to the west. This should hopefully give us some shade most of the day! And most importantly we are parked close to many of our friends!

After getting our Airstream level and situated we barely had any time to decorate or get settled. We walked to check in and got our welcome bags. Then discovered we could get our golf cart rental a day early. Another bonus! So at that point it was just easier to walk the additional half plus mile to retrieve it. Did I mention it was 90*?! Ugh. Hot!

Our first item on our agenda was the VAC (Vintage Airstream Club) Happy Hour! So exciting to see all our friends! Some we haven’t seen in awhile and others we just saw a few days ago. Gotta say our VAC President has got it going on with the projected campfire. It’s the perfect solution to not being able to have a campfire here.

I did have a few minutes after dark to start decorating our golf cart. By the way Jett lives for golf cart rides! More decorations will be added tomorrow. The next week will be jam packed with more gatherings and activities within this event. It’s going to be an incredible end to this Epic Adventure!!
