August 21, 2023 - DAY 3 FUNCTION AT THE JUNCTION

Guess what? Even more pictures!!

We went back through the RV/MH Museum Tour again and spent hours researching in the library there. Then attended a few parties for the induction ceremony of Forrest and Jeri Bone into the RV/MH Museum Hall of Fame. What an honor for them …

The morning came early and with lots to do. We needed to get ready for our travel day. Our departure had us traveling less than an hour to meet up with a vintage caravan!

The caravan was heading to an event that we are all attending at the RV/Motorhome Museum in Elkhart, Indiana. Approximately fifty rigs will be coming in for the event. We will be honoring Forrest and Jeri Bone who will be in attendance and inducted into the RV/Motorhome Hall of Fame. Forrest and Jeri are responsible for reviving the Tin Can Tourist club back in the late 90’s. The group was originally founded in 1919.

This evening we had about fifteen of the fifty rigs arrive for the event.

August 17, 2023 - RAINY MORNING

Rain! And lots of it. We haven’t had this much rain the entire trip. Not a bad thing. It gave us time to relax in the Airstream and enjoy some hot coffee. Hopefully this will rinse off some of the almost 6,000 miles of road grime.

Today we needed to re-supply, re-fuel and prepare for a rally that we will attend this weekend. We headed to South Bend and stopped at a Menards. WOW! It’s a cross between a Lowe’s, Ace Hardware, Tractor Supply and a convenience store. You can get light fixtures, lumber, work clothes, hardware, cabinets, appliances and even milk, eggs and cereal. Some sections were even two floors of merchandise!

The trip into town was polished off with a late lunch, fuel stop and grocery shopping. We needed to get back to camp so that I could make name tags for our rally this weekend!
